Histological Microscopy Preparation workshop

Histological Microscopy Preparation workshop

The laboratory is equipped with a complete set of instruments — including a tissue processor, embedding station, rotary and sliding microtomes, and microscopes — enabling:

  • Preparation and analysis of microscopic sections from small biological samples, embedded or not (e.g., micro-cores of wood, roots, leaves, stems, fish gonads, truffles, etc.).
  • Optimal surface preparation of small wood samples (<1 cm³) for observation under scanning electron microscopy (SEM), among other applications.

The laboratory ensures the implementation and development of reliable techniques, tailored to the needs of submitted projects and to the nature of the collected material, for:

  • Preparing small samples (fixation, dehydration, embedding).
  • Producing histological sections, staining them, and ensuring proper conservation.
